The Inquisitor

The Inquisitor. The name in and of itself doesn't mean much, unless you know the history of the Spanish Inquisition or in this case are anxiously waiting for the 2014 premiere of Star Wars Rebels! I, of course, and referring the the later. If you aren't aware, back in October during the New York Comic Con, the villain of the up coming Star Wars Rebels TV show was revealed by Rebels executive produce Dave Filoni and Lucasfilm's Pablo Hidalgo. There was an introduction video which you can find on YouTube or StarWars.com , but here is the photo released after the announcement:

My Geek Christmas present.....

So I hope you all had a great Christmas. I most definitely did.  Great time with family celebrating on Christmas day with my in-laws as well as today with my family, including my sister and her family in from Arkansas. So the big question I see going around Facebook and Twitter is what did you get for Christmas that celebrated what ever fandom the post was from. Though I got a lot of clothes, and am rocking a new iPad mini, I did get this:

Merry Christmas 2013

So I'm sitting here, presents mostly wrapped, decorations out, hours before the Christmas Candlelight Service. My daughter is eating her dinner, watching Polar Express and the Christmas tree is lit up in all its holiday glory. We have been to Lights of Lakeland, we have been to Disney's Hollywood Studios to see the Osbourne Christmas Lights (and snuck in a ride on Star Tours). I have battled the crowds at Target, Publix and the dreaded Walmart. The Christmas season is in full swing. But I have a confession to make. For the first time ever, I haven't been excited for Christmas at all. It has not felt like Christmas. I haven't had the "Christmas Spirit". This is something I have been struggling with for a couple weeks. There is a lot I could blame it on: work, finances, illness in the family, basically waiting on the inevitable passing of my grandmother. With all that going on who could possibly be in the Christmas spirit? But with all I have done above, w...

Star Wars Weekends 2014 Dates

YES!!!!! Finally announced by Disney the dates of the of the 2014 Star Wars Weekends at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida. Now, I've had a lot going on and didn't post when this announcement broke on Friday, but here you go: Weekend #1: May 16-18 Weekend #2: May 23-25 Weekend #3 May 30-June 1 Weekend #4: June 6-8 Now as of right now, nothing has been announced in the way of guest, but as I hear I'll post. I plan on being there every weekend. With Star Wars Rebel's being released not long after, I expect to there to be some news about the upcoming show. In my wildest dreams hopefully even a trailer and even some of the voice talent there as well. We will have to wait to see if Disney makes those dreams come true. Of course, it wouldn't be Star Wars Weekends without the hosting talents of James Arnold Taylor and Ashley Eckstein. So I'm definitely hoping that Disney brings them back as host. James's Obi-Wan and Beyond show he has done...

Where to begin....

This tends to happen every holiday, after Thanksgiving days fly by and before you can blink its Christmas.  That's what happened to me, I can't believe it took so long for me to write a new blog, time flew by, and the news came rolling in. Whether it was new writers for both Star Wars Episode 7 and Star Trek reboot 3, or the pic of R2-D2 with J.J. Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy at the studio in England. So much news... but I need to geek out on one thing that happened this week. No, not the cool Stormtrooper t-shirt my wife got me for my birthday. I'm talking about the announcement from Disney that they reached an agreement with Paramount Pictures over the Indiana Jones property. Yes, you read it right, the future of the most famous archeologist in the history is now in the hands of the Mouse. What does this mean for Dr. Jones? To find this out lets take a look at the deal.

Happy Thanksgiving

Well it's that time of day that comes around once a year where everyone is in their post turkey comas, the Lions are playing on national TV for the only time this year, and every commercial is trying to entice me to be at their store at the butt crack of dawn to get the best deals of the year. I worked retail for over 10 years, let me let you in on a secret...Black Friday doesn't have the best deals of the year! Sure retailers will tell you it is, and they will have a dozen or so items at an extremely high discounted price, but chances are the number of items are limited and what you truly want isn't on sale. Retailers want you to focus on the sales and "savings" going on tomorrow, but what about the true meaning of Thanksgiving. It's not the sales.  It's not the turkey, potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, or what ever else is cooked. The true meaning is family and being able to spend time not only with them, but a time to focus i...

Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Hello again. Today  I want to discuss Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.   Spinning out from the success of Marvel Avengers, this show focuses in on a rag tag team of non superhero agents of a not so secret agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D. (Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics Division) as they run the globe protecting the unknown. Now I'm gonna make this clear right now, I'm not a comic book reader. I can't say I have ever actually read a comic book in its entirety. My exposure to the Marvel and DC universes are strictly through the movies: Superman, Batman, X-Men, Iron Man, Avengers, etc.; or through T.V shows: Batman The Animated Series, Super Friends, Batman Beyond, etc. Now knowing this, my views of these properties and this show in particular are not going to be based on comic books. I'm a big fan of the podcast Geek Out Loud! and the hosts Steve and Derek keep me in stitches each show and have a great insight into most things geek (except Star T...
